Welcome to my new web site

Posted on 09.08.2012 in Archives

Hello to my many friends, teachers, and colleagues who have taken an interest in my artwork over the years.  I’ve wanted to create a new, dynamic web site for a long time to allow me to share what I’m working on, keep you informed of upcoming shows and events, and also to post about a variety of artistic subjects.  I’m hoping this new site, created by my good friend Beth Blinebury, will do the trick and will keep you coming back for more.  I’ll also be linking to this site from Facebook and Twitter, so if you’re not already connected to me on social media, please consider doing that now!

On the home page, you’ll find a series of four new projects, all of which involve capturing and compositing online imagery.  Two of the projects involve portraiture, and two are abstract.  But all of these projects explore our deep immersion in electronic media, our attempts to forge an authentic personal identity, and our capacity for positive change in this contemporary moment.

Even though all four projects are still in progress, I’ve been lucky enough to have two of them already featured in gallery shows – one in the Sondheim Semifinalists Exhibition as part of Baltimore’s Artscape, and another at the Delaware Center for Contemporary Art.  These portfolios are a big departure from what I’ve been doing in the past, so I hope you will check them out – and read my artist statement — and let me know what you think.

Many thanks for your interest and support, and I really hope you’ll start a dialogue by posting comments on the work – and on other art topics that will be discussed in these pages.

I also want to say a very heartfelt thank you to Robin Taylor, who created and supported my earlier web site – at times from far-flung places in Africa — all for nothing more than a few bartered photos!  She did an outstanding job and her many years of assistance are very much appreciated! internet usage statistics . color table . broken links test .
